 For my portfolio project, I made a magazine called "Family Travel". I chose to do England more my magazine and do London as my feature article. I am very proud of this project and it was a good look back on my recent trip there. I love the tiny details I added because I really think it shows the professionalism and effort of this magazine. I love the pictures I took and I hope AICE sees the beauty of them as well. Although this was a tough process, it was worth the outcome.

Using InDesign was such a great experience to learn how to make a real magazine.  InDesign had so many useful tools to make a professional magazine. For example, using the grid to make sure my text was aligned and neat was very helpful.   I had my fonts match my feature article and table of contents so the magazine would flow nicely.  I made myself a theme to go with through the colors I chose.  After I put my pictures in, I notice there was some bright red in most of them and I colored some important text with that same red (I color matched them) and put it on the text like my title, subheads, and a quote in my feature article.  

Re-edited my magazine.   I added a border around my feature article Fixed some alignment issues  with my text  to make sure my article flowed nicely .  I added more color and brightened my pictures.   Finally, I added the month on the cover and the year to show when the issue is. 

     After I presented my magazine, I got a few critiques about my project. For example, someone suggested I should change my writing in my feature article to horizontal writing instead of columns. However, in every magazine I looked at before I made mine, the writing was in columns, I felt that if I changed mine into horizontal writing, that my feature article would look more like an essay with pictures rather than a magazine article so I decided not to change it. Also, I was told to ad the month and year on my cover page, so I did that. The title of my magazine is "family travel" and I continued the title onto my table of contents as a sort of logo for my magazine. On my table of contents, people said the logo did not show up enough so I copy and pasted it over two more times on top of the logo to darken it so I would stand out more. Finally, someone also said I should have a border added to my feature article so I added that as well and I liked how it turned out. ...
