 Today, I completed my first draft. I finished my feature article. I used text boxes to place picture captions and used grids and alignment tools to place all my text around the pictures.  I brightened up all my pictures in photoshop and added bolded subheadings in my text. I also added a cursive "f" and "t" to make a little design at the end of my feature article to make it look more finished. I continued with the red accent color on my headings and a quote.

Today, I finished working on my table of contents page and part of my feature article. I love my content page because I added some really cool details that I'm proud of like the map in the background and how bright my picture are. I also decided to carry the title onto the table of contents just a lot smaller so it becomes a sort of logo. Also, I like my photo placement because the picture of the Houghton Castle is the page number but you can still see the symbol for the London Underground subway stations. I thought that was a cool detail. As you can see, I added the red to the subtitles to carry that from the title page. I used InDesign for all of this with picture tools and shadow tools. I also used a grid to type my content subheads.

  Today my partner and I uploaded all of our pictures to Indesign. We edited them to make them brighter so they would stand out on the pages. We also scanned maps of our cities to put as a background on the table of contents page. Next, we are creating the outline of our magazine on Indesign. First, we made our cover page which was very easy because we planned it beforehand on our writing outline. Then we made our table of contents page. We first made the background with each of our maps I thought it was a pretty interesting idea because mine showed the underground subways throughout the city. Then we assorted the pictures how we wanted. I think it looks pretty good and after it gets reviewed I'll make the necessary changed but I think it is a good first draft. We used under shadows in black to darken and pull out the title to make it show up better. I used photoshop to straighten my cover image and brighten it up a bit.
